Software and Programming

Q: How do I unlock my LPPK? (FAQSP101)

Answer: There are two methods to unlock LPPK. For either method you will need to provide your software code;
1.  Go Online (24/7) http://www.brtint.com/Tech_LPPK.html
2.  Call Blue Ridge Tech Support 1-800-241-9173 or 770-790-4880 (M–F,8–5 eastern, except holidays)

Q: What does Serial On Priority mean? (FAQSP102)

Answer: When Serial On Priority is selected for a Group, a serial ON command from the BAS or a ON command from a Lx5 BACnet schedule has higher priority than local override switches.  Basically Serial ON Priority is a way to disable local overrides during a scheduled ON period. Common applications are; hallways, cafeterias, vestibules, public areas, etc.

Q: All of my switches work fine during setup / programming mode, but once the controller is put into the BACnet mode the switches stop working, why is this? (FAQSP103)

Answer: The most common cause of this condition is that the Lx5 controller has a factory default BACnet schedule for that Group and that Group also has Serial On Priority selected.  The BACnet schedule is only active when the Lx5 is operated in the BACnet mode; it is not active in programming mode.  The factory default BACnet schedule is set to turn the Group on at 7am (Eastern Time) and off at 7pm (Eastern Time).  When Serial On Priority has been selected for that Group(s) the Lx5 BACnet schedule has a higher priority than local override switches.  The Lx5 local BACnet schedule can be modified or removed by the BACnet BAS computer.

Q: What is the current version of LPPK? (FAQSP104)

Answer: The current version is 5.1.

Addressable Switches (Digi-Touch)

Q: How many Addressable Switches can I have on a switch network? (FAQAS101)

Answer: Each Lx5 controller has an integral 24VDC power source on the Digi-Touch Port (power terminals) that is capable of powering up to 10 Digi-Touch switches at a maximum network length of 500 ft (152m).  For larger applications, the Digi-Touch Port (communication terminals) is capable of supporting up to 60 one-button switches, or 30 two-button switches, or any combination of one and two-button switches that does not exceed 60 unique buttons.  For 3-way applications, it is acceptable to have both buttons at the same address.  The maximum network length for any application is 2,000 feet (608m).

External Power Supply Requirements: If any application surpasses 500ft (152m) of wire, exceeds 10 Digi-Touch Switches, or requires Digi-Touch Input Modules; an external power source must be installed every 500ft (152m).  Consult Blue Ridge Tech Support for assistance.

Retrofit Kits

Q: How do I know which Retrofit Kit to order? (FAQRK101)

Answer: A great place to start is the number of control wires on the existing relays. Example: GE RR7 relays have 3-wires and are on the compatible relay list for the RK3 kit. Please note; not all relays are compatible with Blue Ridge Retrofit Kits (RK). Refer to the product data sheets for a listing of compatible relays.

If you would like application assistance, please email Blue Ridge Tech Support TechSupport@BRTint.com the following information:

1. Close-up picture of the relay label
2. Close-up picture of the low-voltage side (wire connections) of the relay
3. A picture of each panel type and size; including dimensions of the low voltage area (h x w x d)
4. A copy of the as-built drawings or shop drawings of the original panels
